Pour sa première participation à Investec Cape Town Art Fair, la galerie Double V a le plaisir de présenter une exposition réunissant les pratiques complémentaires de

B.D. Graft (1988, Allemagne), Renske Linders (1995, Pays-Bas) et Maty Biayenda (1998, Namibie).

Conçu spécifiquement pour l’occasion, le stand propose un dialogue autour de la construction de l’identité à travers la répétition, le motif et l’iconographie personnelle. Si leurs médiums et langages visuels diffèrent, les trois artistes partagent un intérêt commun pour la manière dont les formes, les gestes et les images du quotidien peuvent devenir des vecteurs d’expression intime. Les œuvres de Maty Biayenda, mêlant peinture, textile et papier, articulent mémoire personnelle et histoires collectives, tandis que B.D. Graft explore l’esthétique du quotidien à travers des peintures et céramiques aux motifs simples et récurrents. Les peintures hyperréalistes de Renske Linders interrogent quant à elles les codes de la féminité et de la représentation à travers des figures fragmentées et énigmatiques. Ensemble, ces pratiques composent un espace sensible où se déploient des récits identitaires pluriels, entre forme, couleur et expérience vécue.

For its first participation in Investec Cape Town Art Fair, Double V Gallery is pleased to present an exhibition bringing together the complementary practices of

B.D. Graft (1988, Germany), Renske Linders (1995, the Netherlands) and Maty Biayenda (1998, Namibia).

Conceived especially for the fair, the booth proposes a dialogue around the construction of identity through repetition, motif and personal iconography. While distinct in medium and visual language, the three artists share a common interest in how everyday forms, gestures and images can become vehicles for intimate expression. Maty Biayenda’s works—spanning painting, textile and paper—interweave personal memory with collective histories, while B.D. Graft’s paintings and ceramics engage with the aesthetics of the everyday through simple, recurring motifs. Renske Linders’ hyperrealistic paintings, meanwhile, question the codes of femininity and representation through fragmented and enigmatic figures. Together, these practices create a sensitive space in which multiple narratives unfold through form, color and lived experience.
